<div id="es_win_caption">An incredible display of light and textures found in this remote sandstone slot canyon. The various rich colors and hues present here are the result of how the eye, and the camera even more so, record reflections of direct light and different color temperatures onto the already colorful sandstone.  I hiked a few miles out here alone four times before finally taking this shot the way I&#8217;d wanted it, just seconds before direct lighting spoils the scene from a position braced several feet off the ground against the opposing canyon walls. </div>
