Sand Dune Arch
by David Swindler
There are so many cool places in North Coyote Buttes besides The Wave. This is one such example. I like to call this the Sand Dune Arch. I asked my friend Lisa pose on top of the dune to give a good perspective of the size. It's so awesome having this stuff right in my own backyard!
Photographed in Coyote Buttes, Utah.
Equipment: Canon 5D III, Canon 15mm Lens
My name is David Swindler and I'm an outdoor photography and travel enthusiast. After working for 10 years as a semiconductor engineer, I quit my job to follow my true passion. I'm now leading guided photography tours. I primarily do private tours in the Southwest from my base in Kanab, UT.
My foray into photography was slow and steady. I graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and started work as a Process Engineer for Micron Technology. My specialty was photolithography, a high-tech process of nano-scale printing to form tiny circuitry on silicon chips. As I worked with the optics and exposure equipment, I began to see many parallels with photography. Thus, photography came very easy to me since I had a good background with the basic physics. When not at work, I loved to explore the great outdoors and I wanted to share this natural beauty with others. I also enjoy teaching others how to improve their photography and there's no better way to do it than practicing the techniques out in the field.
