The Lighting Of The Nubble

by Marlon Flores

One of the most popular times to view The Nubble is when the town of York lights up the lighthouse and buildings for Christmas, on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. The lights come at dusk from then until the first week of January. Photographed in York, Maine, USA.
Equipment: Canon 5D MKIII, Canon 16-35mm f2.8L II, Lee ND filter 2stop.
Marlon Flores
Born and raised in the Philippines. In my early twenty's I began a profound interest and respect for nature through numerous backpacking adventures to some breathtaking places in the Philippines. The beauty of the place became an inspiration. Never have I imagined that it was just a matter of time before I capture those moments in photographs.

Here is another perfect example as to why I dumped my Nikon and went with a Canon – superb photos!

This is marvelous! And it’s the photographer more than the equipment that makes a shot like this! :)

Lighting was perfect to get the “perfect” shot here Marion, the lighthouse off in distance just makes it more intriguing looking!
