Sunset Snowy Owl

by Jim Wickless

In the waning minutes of afternoon sunlight, between a heavily overcast sky and the horizon, a thin sliver of brilliant solar glow illuminated a female Snowy Owl taking off from her fencepost perch against a dark background of conifers near Barrie, Ontario, Canada in early January.

Just a gorgeous shot. The fence post, barbed wire, and weeds make a wonderful frame for a great capture. And the owl is beautiful. Thank you.

Words fail me and jealousy overcomes me. In West Australia I will never get to see let alone photograph such a magnificent animal.
