One-Eyed Lion

by Iris Braun

Although severely handicapped by a missing eye, this male seems to do just fine. He looked healthy and in good shape. I wonder if that missing eye is the result of a fight or a birth defect. Seen in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa in December 2015.
Equipment: Canon gear

Yes, he does seem to be doing fine, and you were able to get a great shot of him. Feel like I’m right there with you.

A not very happy one-eyed lion by the look of him. Great shot Iris.

It appears to be a cataract. He’s sure a beauty. Glad he’s healthy.
Great photo.

A marvelous capture – and it’s so good to know that he is faring well in spite of the handicap.
