Fire And Ice
by Kevin D. Jordan
This shot was taken on one of Iceland's black sand beaches near Jökulsárlón, the famous glacial lagoon in the south of the country. As pieces of the nearby glacier, Breiðamerkurjökull, break away into the lagoon, they eventually make their way through a narrow channel which connects the lagoon to the northern Atlantic, where some large pieces of ice become strewn along the nearby beaches. I took this shot just as the late evening sun started to poke through the clouds for the first time in three days.
Equipment: Canon 6D; 24-105mm f/4
