Standing Strong

Young monks of the Shaolin monastery in China. The monastery is dating back 1500 years and is considered to be the birthplace of Chinese Zen Buddhism and martial arts.

After working 25 years as a photographer, Tom Jacobi became art director of the German magazine "Stern". During his time there, he also developed the monthly photo magazine "View", was publisher of the quarterly photo book "Stern Photography" and became a member of the German Art Directors Club. After leaving the publishing house Gruner+Jahr, he returned to his roots and photographs his own art projects.

What a very unique subject, and so colorful. That also looks more than uncomfortable – but I suppose that is the point. Excellent photo, Tom.
