Taken in the Portage Valley of Alaska south of Anchorage. It was an amazingly strong solar storm that generated this display. While most shooters on this night traced north, a few friends and I took a chance and headed south in search of open water. Not only did the clouds clear as the moon set but the aurora lit up the night sky until the morning. This was the most amazing aurora display I have ever witnessed.

I am a fine art, travel and adventure photographer located on the big island of Hawaii. I love to photograph the beauty of mother nature around Hawaii and the world. I hope my images inspire others to go out and explore.
