Rope NE

by Nicolaus Wegner

A rope tornado forms along a wall cloud under a mid afternoon supercell. The storm began just south of Torrington, WY before crossing the border and becoming super, shortly after producing this tornado. Luckily it was out on the plains and caused no damage.

I like to take photos, and enjoy wild areas that few people see. Wyoming is where I live, which just so happens to have tons of awesome places to photograph.

Intense! Don’t know that I’d want to be anywhere near that, but you captured an awesome shot Nicolaus. Congrats on the POTD!

Terrific capture of the funnel cloud/tornado, Nicolaus. A bit more of the ground would have been nice, but it is great as is. Be safe out there.

One of the best tornado images I’ve seen. Excellent catch!
And it’s nice to ‘see’ you here, Nic.

What an awesome picture, great shot. Thanks for sharing, I’d rather see this in a photo than in real.
