Death from Above

by Dennis Bocasan

Here's another long exposure version taken at the same viewpoint at Coalcliff, Stanwell Park in NSW. My other image chosen as July's 28th "Photo of the Day" which I'm honored. Taken at sunset with an incoming storm at the far horizon.

Maybe “just another guy with a camera” – but you DO know how to use it! And this is NOT just another photo! It is simply amazing. No, it doesn’t look like it would to someone standing there, but you have beautifully executed your vision in a striking way (pun intended?). ;)

Photo of the day, or PHOTO ART of the day? Is it even a photograph?

This is a devastating image. Photoshop or no photoshop, it still has the power to move.

This is not photography, it is computer generated graphics.
This is not Earth Shots.

I like the reflection of the lightening in the sea~~brings it all home.

Technically I don’t think this shot is possible in a single exposure. I thought the idea of this site was minimal manipulation?

I agree its a beautiful image but I think it goes against what I expect to see on this site.

Beautiful !!! perfect shot, congratulations!!!!

Amazing and beautiful capture. It makes me wonder how long you were there and how many shots it took. You netted the big one!

What a wonderful and surreal photo, Mr. Bocasan.

This is something that always bugs me, so I’ll ask; is it olay to download the photo for a background on my monitor? I feel like a crook when I do this, when there is no “hey, grab this image and share it!” sidebar.

Yes, I’m kinda anal like that; I lost quite a bit of money invested in iTunes music after I re-installed Windows and found out that transferring the song files onto a disc or other media was not only encouraged, but a vital necessity. I thought of it as somehow stealing. D’oh!

This is an amazing and inspiring photo.

LOVE it! And, everyone here knows (or should) that if you’re going to take the time to set up and wait (and wait & wait & … ) and take a gazillion shots looking for the ‘right’ one, you’re not going to post it straight out of the camera. The development of photographs is part of the art. I think this is freaking amazing! Bravo!

wow. that is a fantastic picture. I just got your web site off of a top ten photography blog list, you defiantly deserve the #4 spot! did you use any editing, and if so what software? i have been sadly running without any editing options, and i need some advise for what might be a good purchase. (:
