Not my cup of tea: there is only very limited sharpness, and the place where the beautiful light falls , in the background, is completely out of focus. This image should be sharp from front to end to make it a good picture….

I definitely agree with the above comment for a Lavender field should show just that but here I just can’t see it.

My goodness what an awesome shot of perspective. your DOF is fantastic and the colour tone is so soft and silky feel. Thanks for sharing.

Wow–a lavender field of dreams!

I think this must be a test. “I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder” but the obvious better picture would have been if the image was in focus from front to back. The foreground is not sharp and does not allow the viewer to associate the rows of flowers through out the image from front to back, which would have been more effective.

Gorgeous. It doesn’t need to be any sharper. I can feel the softness and smell the lavender. Great capture.

Don’t lose heart! It’s perfectly my cup of tea. Just love the dreamy perspective…

I love the focused point in front, really sets off the field.

Now that is both neat, and different. Anyone of us can point and click at a nice scene WE didn’t create, but nature did. This shows a creative touch, for a change. Thanks!

Love the perspective and the color!

Love this presentation. The thing about art is that we all see things differently. This has “wow” factor, when I opened it I said “wow” and that is how I grade an image.

Beautiful. Far more exciting than how it “should” be photographed. In fact, we might all have better photographs is we strive to veer away from what “should” be done. Instead of the prototypical lavender field photo found as a default on most PCs, we know have a photo that hints at what might be found here or there. And i think it actually mimics our own eyes focus and brain’s processing. Beautiful. Hope to see more.

I too would prefer just a bit more focus on the very front blooms, but find the image very appealing nonetheless. Wonderful composition, colors and light, and draws me in making me want to explore more.

Your photo really caught my eye. (I only comment when that happens.) A field of just lavenders would be boring. And, your photo was selected sooooooo–great job!

Thank you all so much for taking time to comment and for your encouragements.
Also a confirmation that everything in life is relative. That there is no one truth. No one reality. No right or wrong.
Thank you.

Wonder what I was doing on Monday that I missed this lovely!

Well done – ignore the criticism; an imaginative shot – I liked it best from the photos of the week (some others just over-done in my view; too posed or it appear too fiddled with?) – yours is real! Reminds me of the impressionists and it makes you want to enter the field. Keep up the good work.

LOVE IT!!!

You don’t see these type of images enough – you carefully have chosen a depth of field that really draws you into the image.
