Dune Architecture

by Miguel Costa

Deep in the Moroccan lands, a few miles into the Sahara desert, while climbing a huge sand dune to capture the sunset from the top, I look to the side and saw these interesting interplay of dunes. I immediately took grabbed my camera and took a few pictures, as the light was quickly fading away, and kept on climbing the 200 metre high dune at a steady pace.

Simplicity is so beautiful. Brought back memories of living in Saudi Arabia.

Bill K–that’s what I was thinking. This is one of those otherworldly shots where the geometry draws your eye into the subject. Often times when I’m checking out photography at EartShots I’m happy with the small image, but I had to check this one out full sized. Beautiful work.

Great example of “artography” Wish I had been there.

Hi! I’ve seen dunes but I had to check this out again. ‘Artography’ is a good term. The lines, so geometrical and precise makes it o’ther-worldly’. Great!

A gorgeous image Miguel. The simplicity of a single colour, yet one that is so warm and rich, is captivating! Also, I have followed you on Twitter, so look forward to keeping up with your work.
