Scandinavia
by Benjamin Hill
Hiked multiple days in a row through the rain along cliffs to the same location until the weather conditions finally satisfied me. First hike was accompanied by wind and rain so strong that rain droplets were actually flying upwards because of the winds gusting through the fjords. I sat in astonishment as droplets of rain flew in the opposite direction right before my eyes. Truly a phenomenon that only presents its self with the right conditions. Norway and this location will truly always be in my heart.

Maybe the most colorfully expressive photo I’ve ever seen in black and white. Simply beautiful.

very similar vantage point as the one from august 20th, glad it was chosen nonetheless – spectacular

Classic image Benjamin and what a view. Including a person in the scene really gives a sense of perspective.

Nice show, almost identical to the one taken on 20th August, without the boat !!

Excellent shot! A well spotted capture and great post conversion to b/w.

Good capture. Didn’t you guys select a shot taken at the same place, of a man sitting as POTD on August 20th?

Well spotted Sirin. Whats betting that both photographers were travelling together.
Terriffic shot however.

I thought we saw this already; good shot though.

una foto che dimostra che l’ uomo non è nulla in confronto alla natura. un riassunto stupendo e spettacolare di uomo e natura a confronto, un capolavoro agli occhi. a un passo dalla meraviglia e inquietudine di tutti noi.

Your landscapes are well-done. This looks like one awesome place!

This was taken at Lysebotn, wasn’t it? I remember going there as a kid. Good shot, but as others have said, this shot was selected not that long ago. If you’re still in Norway or planning on coming back here some time, I recommend checking out the Møre & Romsdal county. Particularly Trollveggen, Trollstigen and Geiranger. Wonderful scenery.

Same shot, minus the boat…

I, too, have seen this one before, but with a small boat in the river. However it does not detract at all from the vastness and magnificance of the beauty of this wonderful planet we call home.
A great shot Benjamin. Congratulations,
and congrats also to Earth Shots for choosing this P.O.D. again.

It is a very similar shot as the one Aug 20th, but the boat is missing and the person is sitting. Same place, different spectacular shot. Also, the picture on the 20th was a bit darker. I like the “brightness” of this one showing how rugged the side of the cliffs and mountains are in contrast to the serenity of the river. Well done.

I love this shot–especially enjoy the shape of the figure. It looks like they’re leaning back, overwhelmed.
