Speaking for the ametuer wanna be photographers of the world, it would be helpful if all POTD shots would include the details to used create these masterpieces… camera, lens, exposure time, filters, etc.

Whenever I photograph sunrises or sunsets the foreground comes out solid black and if I reduce the contrast it all becomes sort of washed out. I have even tried taking two shots at different exposures and mixing them on my PC but that does not work. What’s the secret behind this picture please?

The ring of light in the cloud formation along with the rose-colored accents really makes a great contrast to the somber rock and smoke. Very memorable.
