Explosion of Jay

by Cedric Girard

This European jay was taking its bath in a forest drinking station, then I took the photography. I has been lucky, having an awesome light and using a mirror behind the bird to underline the scene :)
Equipment: Canon EOS 5D mark II, Sigma 500/4.5

Mind blowing photo. Liked the color patterns. Lines created through the right wing and the water drops created a very nice bokeh. Supper like!

Cette magnifique photo méritait (encore) d’être en haut de l’affiche.

C’est vraiment une superbe image, et quand on sait qu’elle n’a subit aucune retouche, on ne peut que la trouver encore plus belle!!!

Lovely clear shot; I would like to paint this just for the challenge.

Hi, Cédric,

awsome picture. Very impressive piece of light. Would you please explain about the mirror and how it works to underline the picture?

See U on… another forum ;-)

One of the finest bird shots I have seen in a long time. And one of the finest shots in general that I have seen. Impressively done.

Great shot! I bet he is squeaky clean after a bath like that. Wonderful stop motion photography.

Thanks for your comments.

Just specify that I didn’t use heavy post-treatment : just a contrast adjustment and a light reframing with Lightroom :)

I has been lucky this day, with an really unique lighting !
