by Md. Khalid Rayhan Shawon
People in Bangladesh sometimes adopt risky journey by train. Some are so poor that they cant buy ticket. They ride on the roof top as well as between the carriages of Train which involved life risk.
The photo taken before the EID (Biggest Religious Festival of Bangladesh) from Kamlapur Railway Station to Airport Rail Station Dhaka.
Equipment: Nikon D90 and Tokina 11-16mm

This is the other extreme to our fanatical EU health and Safety rules. If only the rail company would install hand holds and a little rail around the edge of the carriages. I know that they probably don’t want to encourage this sort of thing but it has been going on ever since the railways were built and isn’t going to stop any time soon. A little sympathy for these people would be good.

Gives the body a bit of a jerk to see this practice, although it is understandable. And, I’m supposing the photographer is on top of the next car as well? Very good documentary image.
Rajib Singha
A cliche subject but well taken!

Dramatic Shot!

You also took a great risk to get the shot – good work. But that poor lady stuck between the cars – someone should give her a better seat. I’d be way too scared to travel that way.

Terrific POTD, very well shot. Not a usual site for most of us. The risks of everyday life for many around the world can be a real shock to us.

An amazing photo, wonderfully captured, to see a little girl hanging on like that is breath taking.
