Life in Net

I was born in Bangladesh and by profession I’m an Architect. I have started loving Photography since 1992, when I saw some master’s work and I realize this is my world. I am self taught, I learned photography by reading, experimenting and making mistakes. Unavailability of Film in my Home country, In 2007 I started working in digital and it was this new technology that helped transform me from a photographer and into an artist. After a lot of thinking and struggling, I concluded that what I really wanted to do was create images with life, not capture photographs. I have continued to explore many different subjects and styles as my vision constantly changes. So after much hard work, and with a change in my thinking, I transformed myself into an artist.
Early on in my career people would tell me to pick just one thing, focus on it and become known for it. Some suggested that I should choose landscapes and stick with that. However that advice never rang true for me, I did not want choose one thing and I believe that you must do what you love or you’ll never be successful. I like to focus on my subject and my vision, not on my equipment or the processes. So I shoot simple and light, carrying just what I need . I work alone, I cannot relax if someone is with me and I feel like I’m holding them up, even other photographers or my family! And I must not have any other commitments for that day because I do not want to feel rushed or have to quite at a certain time. I cannot be creative if there are any distractions or constraints on me.

There are so many things about this image I like. I hope to see more from your photographs on Earthshots. You have a gift.

Congratulations RANA BHAI.

An odd piece at first glance, but fascinating perspective. It is certainly different from the now rather cliched views we see here that are, nonetheless, taken from beautiful National Parks. You have created a strong, individual piece of work here that made me want to look some more and to comment on, and as Bill said above, I hope more of your work appears here soon.

Great shot, but also I loved your words about your philosophy of your work. They made me stop and think about my own life. I like that you listened to your own heart instead of other people’s opinions!
Helen Hart
Fascinating perspective!

“Life in a Net” thats pretty cool perspective, I like everythign about see. Thanks for not using a filter that makes water look like plastic *roll eyes*

Really a good shot.Regards from Sri lanka

Gorgeous colour and perspective in this unique environmental image. I like to see the unusual aspect of life from the viewpoint of other artists. This is a dramatic and emotive piece of lifestyle art.
I too work alone and for the very same reasons. I cannot lose myself in exploring and capturing the images I see when others are “waiting on me to finish”. Sometimes I am never “finished”… I don’t just shoot what is in front of me. I have to explore all the angles.
Congratulations for POTD!
Russ Bishop

Mafuzul, could you please elaborate on this picture. Is there a wave involved I see water but cannot figure what’s really going on. It almost looks like a tube of a wave. Thanks, by the supperb shot. Really like it.

I like the fact that your photos are honest and imaginative. So many photos published these days (and many on Earth Shots, by the way) are initially beautiful landscapes that are made artificial by overuse of high dynamic range processing.
