This is a beautiful photo. Is it really difficult to include information about where it was taken? It must also have been technically difficult to capture the image, a few clues about how it was taken might help others.

Fantastic picture and so unusual. I think the scene reminds me of Durness, North Scotland. It pays to wait for the right lighting to create a powerful composition of light and shade.

That is fantastic photo! There was a large eruption from the sun on Friday that lead to a geomagnetic storm & aurora. Looked for it in the North of England but alias no luck!
