World from Above
by Pranabesh Das
This photo was taken while the children were playing. These children come from the families of the tea garden workers. Deprived of proper nutrition, opportunity for education and other basic needs - this is how they spend their childhood.
Equipment: Canon EOS 5D

I love the tones of the b&w in this photo. It’s sad that children have to live like that, but yet they seem to find happiness in their imaginations and play. Wonderful capture.

I didn’t see deprivation at a glance, we are easily deceived with bright eyes and that beautiful smile!
John Summers
When you’re a kid it takes a LOT to repress you. But why should they be deprived just for our cup of tea to be a smidgeon cheaper?

its great how this photo doesnt capture what the description reveals, bare feet and together in a circle while smiling. Honest good times with no money involved, well done
