Heron

by Alan Hewitt

This Grey Heron took flight after getting a bit too close to nesting Avocets. The Male Avocet (out of shot) repeatedly swooped at the Heron until it fled.
Equipment: Nikon D300, Nikon 200-400

A lovely picture; it isn’t always easy to get close to herons, let alone to get them in flight; well done.
