Blue Jay
by Nduche Onyeaso
These birds are regular visitors to my front yard. The trick? Throw out peanuts and they will come, at least in Neptune NJ where I live. They are highly sociable, loud and flamboyant birds. Additionally they are very photogenic!

I am an MD. I am also an enthusiastic amateur photographer. I am particularly interested in birds and insects because I find them more challenging however any good situation is game for me. While I focus on shooting exceptional quality shots I believe the story a picture tells makes a shot! I currently live in Neptune NJ and have been amazed at the vibrance and plurality of wildlife at the nearby Sharkriver estuary where a high percentage of my shots are taken.

This is an absolutely lovely photo. This guy looks like he has designs on a snack just out of range of the camera…appears to be concentrating very hard. Thanks for allowing us in on the moment!

This is just an awesome shot, I liked your DOF and love the colour on that bird. The bird is so contrasting with such a beautiful blurred background. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful shot.

This is a stunning shot, I love the angle of the blue jay’s head, you can see the ? mark in his mind about which nut he’s going to go for next. Great clarity, and composition. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic shot doctor. The clarity and color is really nice, as is the composition. Well done.

A delightful image of this gorgeous bird. Being from CA, I don’t get to see them – so it is especially nice to see your lovely photo.

Stunning. For how common they are, getting a flattering shot is not an easy task. Well done

…When I looked at this for the first time, I just knew I had to make it my Wallpaper !! I was also wishing I could reach out & hold that beautiful, precious creature of God in the palm of my hand. Thank you so much for capturing that sweet little bird on film so that I & others could share in the joy of looking at it…
