A beautiful night in the Smoky's spent under the stars listening to Coyotes howling in the far and not so far distance. This was a 2hr section of an 8-hr time-lapse. Cade's Cove Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Equipment: NIkon D200, Tokina 12-24mm ƒ/4, Nikon timer remote, Large Lead Acid Battery

Growing up in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains gave me a deep appreciation for nature and a curiosity to keep exploring. Most of the time the picture or sequence has already been created in my mind, I just work very hard trying to execute it.

I love the monochromatic blue tone of this image. The star trails are amazing and the tree brings us right back to Earth.
