Perpetual Stillness
by Mike Cavaroc
On the way out of an extended weekend in the interior of Yellowstone National Park in winter, the snowcoach gave us a few minutes to check out Kepler Cascades of the Firehole River. With two snowcoaches there, I had to wait till everyone left before I could get the shot I wanted.

I am a wildlife and nature photographer and videographer living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Since late 2008, I've been exploring Grand Teton National Park thoroughly. It's been my greatest teacher since moving here and I love finding an endless amount of lessons to learn from both within its borders, and outside.
I consider myself a conservationist photographer, but rather than showing what's wrong with the world, I prefer to keep my eyes on what's right with it. It's the endless discoveries in natural beauty, uninterrupted by human civilization that keep me young, energetic and eager for the future.

Reminds me of my childhood in New Zealand. I can feel the cold and hear the crunch when walking in the snow just by looking at the photo. Great photo.

…and it was well worth the wait. It’s a beautiful image and considering the pressure you must have been under to “hurry up!” I think you did a great job in exposing for what can be a very difficult landscape.
