The Line Up

by Mike Shaw

I had made some plans to meet up with my friends Brad and Dave to head out to the Davenport area for some sunset shots but the weather wasn't looking too promising, so we made the last minute decision to give this location a try. Even though Brad and I both have spent a lot of time looking at google earth trying to find the easiest rout to this place, we weren't a hundred percent sure where we needed to be. We just worked our way up the mountain through the very narrow streets of Sausalito until we stumbled across a trail that looked like it headed in the direction we needed to go.

So we grabbed our gear and started heading up the trail, and I do mean up!! It was only about a one mile hike, but it was a very constant, steep, slippery uphill hike...And that makes for a lot of huffing and puffing to get my out of shape butt up that hill!! But as soon as we stepped up on to the top of that hill and saw this amazing view, it was all worth it...... The other great thing, the hike back was all down hill....;-)

Mike the climb was certainly woth it. At first I thought this must have been taken from a ‘copter. I have taken hundreds of photos of “the Bridge” I must say yours is indeed unique. Excellent .

This is stunning. I’ve taken many, many photos of the bridge, but none compares with this! I just love it. Thanks for sharing it.

I am not a fan of ‘tainting’ (haha) earthshots with buildings and man-made things- but THIS photo is the one exception Ive seen! It is spectaular and has some abtract qualities to it; youve taken man-made and made it etheral, well done!

Gorgeous colors, and the blurred lights, along with your perfect angle, make this a photo to remember.

What an incredible shot !! Living on the other side of the world and not being familiar with your area, I went straight to your storyline. I at first thought it was some sort of viewing tower,
but a bridge !! ( ?) and what an angle !!!! You have brought new meaning to the world of
photography. I thank you for showing such a true feat of engineering. The time of day was just sooo…right.
This a photo which should echo around the world. Thank you.
