Magical indeed. I remember my velvia days well. Don’t see suns like that anymore with digital. And good for you for chucking your expectations and making the most of what enfolded.
Pauline Jones
Lovely shot; reminds me of something you would see at the beginning of a fantasy film.

It goes to show you how much we digital users are missing. I used Velvia 50 for years before converting to digital. To this day, with all my digital colour work, I use the glorious Velvia saturation as a benchmark when post processing. A magical shot indeed, and well worth your trek to the mountains.

When I first saw this, I thought I was looking at a famous painting. Then I realized it was the daily Earthshot. I couldn’t believe it, this transcends photography. I don’t know how to explain this, but there is something very famous about this scene already. I would love to see it in oils some day. Awesome!

Fantastic drama captured in this image

Beautiful setting.I don’t like such bright displays though. I know…it limits me.

Thanks everyone for your comments and support.
Peggy, it does look a bit bright to me as well. It seems the brightness has increased with my upload, not sure how to explain it. My original was a bit darker and had a more mysterious feeling to it.
Thanks again, Harry
