Great Migration

by Matt Burrard-Lucas

The Wildebeest Migration in the Masai Mara and the Serengeti is one of the most dramatic spectacles on Earth. This shot shows tens of thousands of wildebeest battling the Mara River as they migrate south into the Serengeti.
Equipment: Canon EOS 1D MK IV, 70-200 f/2.8 L lens

This view shows interesting patterns. It’s fascinating how they stay pretty much together!

Wonderful picture, which powerfully shows that a commercial highway planned for 2011 across the northern Serengeti will have an undeniably negative impact on the great migration. It’s critical that the commercial highway be stopped & an alternative route(s), already identified, be used in lieu.
