Plitvice Lakes
by John and Tina Reid
What seems like a perfectly landscaped garden is in fact the natural beauty of Plitvice National Park in the interior of Croatia.

Spectacular photo of one of the many waterfalls of the Plitvice Lakes. I traveled to Croatia last year and this park was one of the highlights of the trip. Thanks for bringing me back again!

This is interesting, how come the water is aquamarine?

Hi guys – thanks for looking in and commenting.
Here is my attempt to answer your questions:
1. I used a standard BW polarizer to remove glare off the water and foilage, which helps with saturation.
2. The water is aquamarine because of the karstic rock so predominant in the area.
3. If you’re wondering how much photoshop trickery went into this – do an image search on Plitvice Lakes. It really is a garden of eden. Our flickr stream will have more of the area (Croatia set)
