Diamond at the Bottom of the Drain
by Adam Baker
While taking this shot, a guy right beside me proposed to his lady friend, it was cute - she said yes. They asked me to take a couple photos of them...and I obliged. The bride-to-be wanted a close up of the ring and as she took the ring off (why, I'll never know) it slipped out of her fingers, hit the top of the barrier, bounced, fell off the other side onto a very small patch of grass just inches before a rather long drop to the bottom of the gorge. Yikes. The ring was carefully recovered by the groom, and I doubt the bride has taken the ring off since.

I’m a photographer based in Ithaca, NY. Central NY’s finger lakes and the Northeast are my playground. Everyday I try to bring a unique vision of the area to my viewers.

That’s a stunning photo! I wonder how long that waterfall has been flowing if it is solely responsible for wearing away the cliffs to its current level.

And I was looking to see what part of Arkansas this is. Hmmm New York! And I loved the story, it added a 5th dimension to the photo.

So picturesque,it looks unreal! I like the Fall colors surrounding the entire scene.
Great background for the engagement; perhaps dropping the diamond was an omen!

Gorgeous Photo! Great story! I was just talking with a co-worker the other day about all the gorgeous parks between Ithaca and Watkins Glen. New York State certainly has more than her share of natural beauty!
