I'm a freelance journalist and live on a cattle station in central Queensland. I write and take photos for magazines and newspapers - mostly rural features, travel and news stories. Living in a remote area, I need to be able to provide photos with my stories - photography has become a major part of my work

Beauty comes in so many colours – Rusts and browns of Autumn one day, pinks and greens of spring the next – what a world, what a life. You’ve caught this field of colour brilliantly, thanks for sharing a little piece of Australia with everyone.

Tulips blooming in October? We see them in the Spring. Lovely shot.

Love the perspective, just the right amount in focus.

How nice to see pictures from Australia here. One thing I love about EarthShots is the connections with people all over the planet. I recently finished reading Road from Coorain, by Jill Conway, a great story and detailed descriptions of cattle ranch life and Australia in general.

Wonderful image, Paula, of such a pretty place. How super that you combine your photography and writing in such a way.

This is actually in north west Tasmania – Wynyard. And it is spring here in Australia, thus the blooming tulips!

This is a lovely sight and of course it is spring down under.
