Endurance

by Jim Patterson

Back in June Kendra and I made a quick road trip through Oregon and up to Seattle. It certainly was not a proper photography trip. We needed to make constant progress along the way and only had two days in Oregon. The first was spent in Bandon, the second at Pacific City. We did get to see a lot of the popular spots along the way such as Seal Rocks, Cape Perpetua, and Heceta Head Lighthouse. We did miss out on a few other spots, but now that we have a taste, a return trip is certain. Despite how calm it was on the south side of Cape Kiwanda, we were impressed with the wave action once we arrived at this commonly shot vantage point. During the big sets, waves would explode as high as the tops of these sandstone bluffs. Impressive for such a 'calm' day. Great effect and very good use of lighting. I like the effect used through the nd filter but the light is impeccable

Thank you Jim! These pictures remind me of the coast of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, where I lived for seven years. Beautiful shot!

I like what this filter does to colors but I don’t like what it does to water. Great shot nevertheless.
