Under the Rising Moon

Here is a shot from my brief visit to Joshua Tree back in December. For this image, I used a white LED flashlight to light paint the rocks.

The stars here are amazingly crisp for a 30 second exposure. I love the way you maintained the foreground shadows in the rocks.

Amazing picture — well done! Have to say, like objects in the clouds, my first split-second impression was of a goose… body on the left, neck arching over with the head on the ground — even discoloration in the rock for the eyes.
