Puffin Portrait

by Mike Turtle

This one has a good mouthful of Sandeels - it couldn't squeeze any more in if it tried!

What a beautiful Puffin with a mouthful! Great shot. Where were you that you were looking so straight on?

Excellent catch! I wonder if he’s going to share…
This is a sight I would love to see for myself!

He does look as though he wants to share his catch, only ever seen shots of puffins sideon! Where was it taken?

Great shot indeed, straight in the center of the image.

Puffins are my favorite birds! Saw them in Alaska, missed them in Scotland. This is a fantastic picture. I love its expression and the strong belly muscles.

Great detail of him.

This is lovely, it’s the type of thing I like to paint. I love the row of eyes in the puffin’s mouth.

Great catch for both of you! How many shots did you take to get this fabulous close-up?

Thank you for that skillful shot; I never saw a puffin up close; people see them off Cape Breton Island NS, but I never had a chance to see them when I lived there.

Wonderful, I love how you have captured the puffin straight on.

It’s the background that does it. Usually there is a sea scape or grass on a cliff top. Has it been photoshopped or what?
