Majestic Eagle

I was photographing this eagle from a small rocky boat in the rain at Kenai Fjords, Alaska. After snapping a few photos, he took off and landed atop this beautiful rocky outcrop. I was just hoping to keep the eagle in focus while the boat bobbed in the choppy waters. I was very surprised to see the beautiful scenery surrounding the eagle when I viewed the picture back home.

Bald Eagles are some of my favorite subjects and Alaska has always been great for them. Your capture is great and I agree that the background helps the eagle to stand out.

Didnt like it at first glance thought eagle was too small, but after looking a while and reading your story, i understand how well he blends into the bigger picture. A great capture indeed.

It is a wonderful image of a wild eagle in its natural environment. I also love how you captured the details of the flora (moss, grass, trees, flowers) and the rocks. I feel I am IN the scene.
