Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice – Iceland

Iceland would probably have been a more than suitable place for Robert Frost to write those words.
These crystal gems will not make it through the night, but most tides produce new offerings for us to behold. This was taken on my first “night” in Iceland, the conditions were stormy / overcast at ca. 3am allowing for a “darker” sky, a mix of twilight blue and grey clouds. A bit of surf and a polarized long exposure did the rest (for me at least).
Endless opportunities. I think where this was taken and all the rest is irrelevant, rather, the question is where it takes you, if anywhere.
Technical: Nikon D3x, CPL, 0.45x HE GND, 0.6x ND, 85s at f16, 55mm

The clarity makes these ice crystals look like oversized diamonds. The long exposure gives the tidewaters a soft look. Very interesting shot.

It is nice to get these pieces in context but I would have liked to have seen them up closer as they look lovely.
