Filtered Light
by Jared Ropelato
After I got the water's edge view of the bridge, I headed up to Hendrik point and caught some great sunrise light on the bridge and the sagebrushesque (word?) bush in the foreground. There was a large cloud hanging on Angel Island and it filtered the sun just enough to give me this gorgeous orangish light, even a few minutes after the sun was fully up. I've been at the bridge many times as the sun rose, but I've never been this happy with the light.

I like bridges. Nice colors.

I am soooo envious of this shot. I spent a week last July in SF on vacation. My whole purpose of the trip was to shoot the GG Bridge. Not once in the entire week I was there did I get a clear shot of the bridge like this. Every shot I took from nearly this same spot is missing half the bridge as it disappeared into the fog.
Great shot of a truly iconic landmark… makes me want to go back for Round 2!!

Super shot, well worth all the wait and trips up there.

Nicely one; the colors are strong; it’s not always easy to get a new way of shooting a much photographed subject.

Stunning capture. Al Dixon, it would be nice for an Ausie to see what the GG disappearing into the fog would loo like! You’ve got me intrigued.

Spectacular! Sky, water, sagebrush, bridge, everything just perfect. Love the low clouds in the distance…
