Morning

by Herman Cater

At 5.30 it was a misty morning. I tried many times after that, but there was nothing like what I saw that morning.

The capture of the sunlight off of the trees is magnificant. 5:30am (morning side light) is a photographers secret as this demonstrates.

Fantastic shot! I’ve only seen lighting this dramatic a couple of times–once in Kings Canyon National Park (California), and once near Munising, Michigan, driving thru the haze to be at a Spring Breeding Bird Survey spot at the crack of dawn. Memories are wonderful, and your photo really captures a special moment.

I would like to thank everybody for their impresions about the image. It was my fierst day with my first digiral camera and there were even better compositions, but I could not see much with the sun in my eyes. I did not know it is possible to ratate the viewer.

Some asked what was thje camera. It was compact Olypus 5050. Then the people saw it on Photoblink in 2006, they invited me to Skye. It was a great experience.
