This picture makes me feel like I wish I was standing right there looking at this beautiful owl and the spectacular nature. How does he get to these places to shoot such a beautiful picture? I could feel the cold and soak in the beauty of the owl. Well done.

As an Owl lover you have come up with a most unusual shot in an appropriate setting.

I particularly like the owl’s left eye contact as a focal point, at least for me, then I see the barred plumage, and lastly the sunset over the bird provides the striking contrast. I like it!!.

Jim Atkinson, you maybe an owl lover, but I think the shot is unique, howvever you have contradicted the photo, by asking for an UNUSUAL shot in an Appropiariate setting.
How would you get both as natural???? perhaps the ammusemt catagory, is where you should be placing comments.

Very nice Picture.

A splendid shot, wonderful low to high vantage point. The shot is a fitting reward for your labour of love.

Like this one, many owls have orange eyes, beautiful close up and interesting to paint. This is a lovely shot; the tinges of pink in the background make it a great composition.
