Helsinki Cathedral
by Lukas Ondrousek
A distinct landmark in the scenery of central Helsinki, with a tall green dome surrounded by four smaller domes, the church was built in 1830-1852, in neoclassical style. Today the cathedral is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Helsinki.

Great mood/lighting. Well done.

The highlights of the lamps are very well managed. Is it HDR or blend or 2 exposures?
I also like the dramatic sky.
Pauline Jones
The lighting is very well balanced.

Nice picture, I would have given it more midtones brightness cause it looks a little bit dark. but on the whole its fine.

Interesting mélange of architectural styles. Nice pic. I especially like the cross and sphere on top and the small domes with stars and cross, all of which seem to ‘echo’ the light on the lamps below.

Anurag, thank you for the comment. no it’s not a HDR nor a 2 exposure blend. the sky was darkened in PS.

Stunning. I love the contrast of the lamps with the dark clouds and dullness of the Catherdral.

This goes beyond moody to creepy–could show up in one of those dracula books as a cover illustration!
Magnificent composition makes the building loom over us and forces us to look at the frightening sky. You really have a winner here!
