Footprints heading towards us doesn’t tell a story other than you walked across the snow, turned round and took the photo. If you had photographed footsteps heading away from us there would have been a much more poignant sense of story.

No Pauline it would just be the cliched and expected shot then.
Rename it Snow Trail and it does what it says on the tin- sometimes we need to look behind us and see the trail we left.
Or we could just enjoy the photo.
