Summit Snowstorm

by Mark Schueler

Rain, clouds, and fog almost prevented any sight or shots of Mt. Shasta on a recent visit to Northern California and Southern Oregon. Fortunately, on this day, I caught the peak just as a snowstorm was blowing over it.

I am primarily a portrait and event photographer, but I enjoy landscape photography when the opportunities present themselves. I especially like landscapes that feature urban or rural decay--I like the stories told by the manmade things we leave behind.

Great shot! It is both beautiful photograph and a fascinating illustration of what happens when a cloud passes over a mountain.
