Snowy Egret

by Ian Plant

Snowy egrets come to the Chesapeake Bay every summer. After diving into a tidal pool, this egret shook itself dry and looked right at me. Click. Richardson Marsh, Maryland.

Very interesting eyes on this bird. I love the grass and the just-shaken feathers. They reminded me of the ladies at the hair salon after their shampoo :)

I love this shot! Most folks try to capture this bird in an elegant pose. You’ve managed to show us a whole new dimension. The grasses and dew-drops make the perfect back-drop–congrats on your very special potd!

Wonderful backlit shot and a pleasing Bokeh. The simple complimentary color scheme also helps to highlight the white bird. Great shot and a humorous one.

Kathrine, New year’s greetings to you too.
No problems here, Cheers!!!
