Great shot! I live near the Canadian Rockies, any chance you can give any more details as to where exactly this is?

There are still spots on earth that look like this. Let hope than man has no plans for this spot..

Wonderful shot with great depth, perspective, and details. The reflection allows us to see the mountaintops cropped from view. This, and the distant trees at the end of the lake, allow us a sense of the true enormity of the place–very nice effect! This would be a great jig-saw puzzle

This is idyllic! Wonderful shot of a beautiful scene. Wish I could see it.

I live only a few hours from this spot and visit it numerous times a year. Not to ruin it for you Roland; but out of frame to the left are numerous cabins, a resturant, and gift shop. To get this shot in the middle of the summer is nearly impossible as this rock outcropping is crawling with people. Visiting it at night, however, is a star-gazers dream!!

Sorry, all the cabins etc are out of frame to the right.

I always love the Rich Aqua blue of lake Moraine.
Nice shot taken from a less usual vantage point, giving a fresh look to the shot.

I like how you cant see the sky, but u get a hint of what it, and the top of the mountains, look like. Very cool shot :)

This photo is so beautiful. It makes me want to go there. Is this anywhere near Banff?

Gorgeous! I was there in August and it was spectacular. Nothing else like it in North America for sure!

By the way…its in Banff Nat’l Park, about 45 minutes up the road from town of Banff.

Beautiful. I was there in Oct last year, it had just begun to snow. But with overcast/cloudy skies. You have captured it beautifully. Congratulations.

14th January 2010 at 2:40 pm

It is near Lake Louise, you turn left on a side road before reaching Lake Louise.

Beautiful composition, gives an intimate, personal feel for the viewer looking from the shoreline with the pine tree close by;
you have employed perfect use of exposure on the far sunlit shoreline, perfectly exposed…did you take two shots and merge them?

This is an example of the type of place on this planet that needs to be seen by all the worlds belligerents. Maybe peace could follow!

15th January 2010 at 9:26 am

This is a beautiful, uplifting photo but a couple of tips for next time: it would have been a better composition if you had less foreground and more of the mountains in the background, also the picture needs straightening, which you can do with Picasa, a free program from Google.
