What wonderful colors and textures! The few streaks of watery blue add a perfect counterpoint to the jagged rock formations. Now I need to look up the minerals in that area. Fantastic shot-great potd!
Another wonderful shot Tad, at first glance I thought it was molten lava with rising wisps of steam. Apt title too.
I see you also had one this day last year!
Are you also using the Singh-Ray golden blue polariser here?
Well done! A diferent aproach revealing an good “photographer eye”.
Nice shot
Interesting shot; well done
Very interesting shot. I love the colors, the steely blue and the yellow-orange-brown spectrum are quite a sight. I hope Katherine will tell us what the minerals are.
Wonderful contrasts and with the soft water flowing, makes a lovely shot.
Great shot Tad, looks beautiful there!
Oh you did won the shot last year too, Congrats!
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I did forget one piece of equipment that I used for the shot. I used a standard circular polarizer. Anurag, a golden blue polarizer was not used.
Such a captivating photograph. Great complexity, texture, color and composition.
another painting by God! the colors are so awesome! would make a lovely abstract canavs on the wall!
Just a cursory search so far–volcanic activity very early, followed by upheaval, metamorphosis, and sedimentary deposits–all jumbled into various layers and shapes as the continents developed. The photo reminded me of the colors at Jasper Knob in the Michigan Upper Peninsula. I find geology fascinating!
The colors are fantastic, oh, I’d love to have that as a painting!
Excellent shot, very good find! Regards from Argentine.
