Pierre Lakes Sunrise
by Tad Bowman
This colorado mountain picture depicts sunrise on an unnamed peak in the Pierre Lakes Cirque. This location is located about 3 miles off trail with a 3800 ft elevation. I camped out here with a friend a I think we found the only area within 2 square miles of boulders to pitch a tent.

Lovely shot; it’s great to have people laboriously climb mountains to bring us shots of places we never knew existed; especially when we can see them from the comfort of our offices; keep it up.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and feedback. I realized I messed up the description. Sorry about that. What I intended to say was that this location was about 3 miles off any official trail with a 3800 ft. elevation gain. Final elevation was about 12,000 feet. Planet Lover – this photograph was taken in Early August.

Great photo! What a cacophony of textures!!! Thanks for correcting the info on altitude–things are so quiet and solemn above the tree-line.
