Blue Hour at Lake Kleifarvatn

by Orvaratli

Taken when the blue hour was at its peak, the moon added color and gave the still cold evening a little extra brightness. This was a very pleasant photoshoot. Staying out there alone in the soundless peaceful night looking at the mirror smooth lake while my camera was exposing was very relaxing. I really enjoyed it because it is not that often that nights are as quiet as this one.

Wow, amazing shot Orvaratli! I really like yours, because I’ve been to Iceland myself and I like the country and the landscape. I loved my trip to that wonderful place and I’m really looking forward to the day I’ll return. :)

Anyway, I like the colours and especially those in the sky, and the reflections in the water. Congratulations on you POTD!

Simply beautiful! The clouds pattern made another lake in the sky.

The blue lake was aptly named; you show us parts of Iceland we never normally see.

Thank you for another beautiful shot. It’s obvious you are connected to the land and the elements as you seem to capture their spirit so well! Thank you for sharing it so beautifully! Breathtaking!

I always look forward to your art, Orvaratli; you give us the stunning beauty of your country in every potd. I visited Iceland in January -everyone thought I was crazy :) - and I would go back in winter any time, to see views like this.

I like this shot and great artistic angle. The colors I am a little concerned with, they are too on the blue. I mean too saturated.

What a scene. Beautiful. I love the sky.

The vastness of the landscape opens itself perfectly to this kind of interpretation. For me, the cloud motion compliments the already strong sense of expanse and solitude displayed here.

MArc Adamus pretty much says what I was going to say.
Beautiful and intruiging!!!!

This is the perfect counterpoint to yesterday’s photo. Both blue, yet with polar emotional effect on the viewer. Wonderful work, as usual!

Beautiful capture — just wonderful color!

Nice contrast between the calm fluid (water) and the rushing fluid (air in the sky). Very good depht, seems 3d.
