The Fallen

by Michael Bollino

Fallen leaves from Big Leaf Maples carpet the ground along a wide section of stream on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. As I set up the skies opened up, forcing me to deal with a soaking rain as I continued shooting for the next half hour or more. On the bright side the rain worked to intensify the fall colors present all around me.
Equipment: Nikon D300 Tokina 12-24mm GND

Beautiful shot with rich deep colors! Autumn is a wonderful season, and you’ve managed to compose a great portrait of it. Here in Grand Ledge, the fallen sugar maple leaves make the lawns look as if they’re paved with gold coins. Very vivid potd!

Lovely! Being out in the rain in a beautiful place is great for the spirit, and for really good photographers… How does one protect the camera, anyway?

Nature does have a way of bringing the leaves to a vibrant color. Lovely.

I love this photo. It has so many things that appeal to me, the vibrant fall foliage, the stream, the composition. I would like to ask if there is anyway to get it as my screen saver?
I’d love to look at it everyday this season

All the best
