Dream a Little
by Paul Marcellini
A magical morning. We rounded the corner in the Land Cruiser and this scene unfolded. The elephants are part of the Echo group that make a nightly journey and retrace their steps in the morning. We were lucky Kilimanjaro was visible, right as the light hit perfectly.
Equipment: Canon 5d2, Tamron 28-75 2.8

The title you chose really makes this photo! The hazy quality and muted colors might otherwise be understood, but this has a definite dreamlike quality. Very well done!

…………oops–I meant to say ‘might not otherwise be understood’……….

I have been gazing into this scene for several minutes now (who’s counting anyway?;-) Feels as if I Am Right There with the animals, in the great outdoors; can even feel the density of the air on my skin. Thanks much for this virtual “vacation.” Hope to find more of your pics online. This communicated something to me that I’d like to experience again.

You become religious when seeing such a picture.

Amazing shot!
I’m not a photographer so don’t know exactly the issue..but the pink colour…is it naturally there or addded? I would prefer it less pink.
Great picture.

Great Story. This image really says a lot. I would have brightened the front part of the image cause the ground looks too dark but over all its perfect.

Africa, when will I see you with my own eyes? In the meantime, I am transported there through the eyes of great photographers. This is a great potd. Congratulations! (It is sad to see the vanishing snow on Kilimanjaro…)

Wow. Words can’t describe. You’d have to see the smile yourself. I live in Dar es Salaam. Where was this photo taken. I’m assuming you were on the Kenyan side of Kilimanjaro?

Wonderful how you captured the African Elephant Family, the Nature and the Light Atmosphere !

I agree Planet Lover. The signature snow bowl on top is now gone. It has been devastating to villagers to not have run off from the melt. It is really sad!! Nice shot. Love the baby elephant!

Amazing! Great contrast in color, texture, subject, and composition.
I love how the elephants are walking toward the viewer, as if they’re coming out of the dreamy background.

What a scene and background also. Great work.

Very unusual. the two groups of clouds gives an illusion of two shots in one, makes my eyes squint specially when you look at the elephants.
Great Shot!
