Great monochromatic shot. I would have preferred a bit more contrast on the falls (PP). Just a personal liking.

This is a lovely picture; to me the colors are just right.

Like it but all the whites in the image give no space for a main subject.

Brrrrrrr………I’m just not ready for this yet. It’s a beautiful shot, but it only serves to remind me of the snow in our forecast for Friday. Beautiful shot of a lovely place……..where? Most of us seem to want more info–what, where, when, etc. I especially like the contrast between the frozen icicles and the flowing water.

This waterfall is Blackwater Falls located in Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia. I shot this from the observation deck above the canyon with a 80-200mm, full frame and CPL.

Thanks for all your kind comments so far!

If this is the same Blackwater that I know of, then it’s in/near Davis, WV.

Thanks for the details, Joseph. This looks similar to Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan’s UP. Tahquamenon is Coca Cola colored due to tannins from the forest, but in a similar setting. You need to visit if you haven’t already done so!

I am very familiar with this area. I grew up in west virginia. Black water falls is the place I spent my first honeymoon. It is beautiful. You took a lovely picture. thanks

Joseph, this is such an intriguing photo. It looks incredibly cold and reminds me of scenes here in Oregon. I especially like the focus of the water, it looks so icy. You have a good eye and great willingness to endure some chilly temps. Thanks for the beauty you captured. Keep up the great work.
