Lovely mountain vista. Are the pink flowers the same ‘Fireweed’ that blooms in Alaska? Nice composition, depth of field and color!

Beautiful colors in this scene.

Blue sky, colored clouds, far away mountians and close flowers, what a harmonous picture of the great nature. I love it.

This is a beautiful scene you have some lovely shots on your website too.

The plant in the foreground is Willowherb and it is indeed the Fireweed that grows in Alaska. It usually likes disturbed ground as it is an annual and that is why it tends to be one of the first things to colonize after the ground has been burned. It grows in Ireland too, along with some of its cousins. Switzerland is a beautiful country; we should definitely have more photos of it on Earth Shots.

What a excellent photography and what a good composition. The floors of the first plane grow also in the south of my country, the Argentine Patagonia!!! Congrats for both.

This truly does capture the essence of ‘Mountain Charm’. Incredible photo, good work

Thanks, Pauline. One legend I’ve heard is that because the fireweed blooms from the bottom up, when the last blooms open, the snow starts flying again!

Hey everyone – thanks so much for the comments and the information on the flora (I had no idea).
It was a very pleasant surprise to see this pop up in my feed reader.
