Foggy Stream

by James Kyle

Just after a light rain in warm summer air - Because of the cool temp. of the water (51 to 58 D.F.) the fog appears to "float" on the top of the water.
Equipment: Canon 30D - Sigma Wide-angle 15-30mm - Photomatix Software

This is lovely. The lighting is so unusual, but it helps the viewer feel a part of the scene–with light bouncing all around. Where is this?

This is so enchanting! The still, quiet, presence of peace. Sometimes I go to such a place in my dreams. Thank you.

It’s very beautiful. I would like to remove the closer leaves in front to make the river look deeper.

You are one fine photographer too! Thanks for sharing. I look forward to doing the same thing someday. for now I practice on my kids when they slow down enough for my camera.

great shot and very technical. I like the effect on the water but the framing gives a whole great impact.

Congratulations on being able to live your dream….I, too, now have time to pursue photography during my retirement years, and love it! The picture is very nice and you captured the scene well.

Wonderful photo. I am learning to use my 30D so that I may become a Professional Photographer, too, someday. I also dream of pursuing photography seriously upon retirement (in 20+ years). Did you use a filter of any sort on your lens, like a polarizing type? Thank you. -David

Hey Jim: Pretty interesting photo. I’m glad you were aware of the conditions creating this wonderful fog shot. Just kidding. It was great shooting with you this past summer. Burt
